Spring is here – have you dusted off your flying carpet?

Got your ticket to sometimes magical, but always imaginative, lands?

Dusting down, and some sprucing up, has been a main activity at The Story Museum, Oxford recently as doors opened, following a first phase of building development, in early April.

The opening also marks the start of the inspired ‘26 Characters’ exhibition.

Was lucky enough to be helping out there on the opening weekend as a volunteer, as curious visitors arrived to take a trip from the emerald hue of Oz to a frosty Narnia, via an azure drenched Treasure Island and a host more places en route.

Leading the way on the journey are some well-known contemporary authors represented by their portrait photographs – spot the writer and their characterful guise, donned especially for the exhibition. 26 Characters continues until 2 November 2014.

Will you take the trip?
